Listening to the Earth: Wisdom for Rooting, Relating & Restoring

"While racial capitalism has attempted to sever our connection to the sacred earth for 400 years, Black people have long seen the land and water as family and understood the intrinsic value of nature." -Leah Penniman

Join us on Sunday, April 2nd for Listening to the Earth: Wisdom for Rooting, Relating & Restoring with farmer, educator & food justice activist Leah Penniman (cofounder of Soul Fire Farms, author of Farming While Black & Black Earth Wisdom) and hip-hop, R&B artist & community curator Jada Imani.

The medicine we need is rooted within us and beneath us. How can we listen to the earth and find guidance for restoring our relationships with the land, water and each other? What are the pathways for transforming racial violence, food apartheid and climate injustice into the flourishing world we know is possible and already emerging? Join us as we gather at the intersections of soil, community, music, life and liberation.

WHAT: This event is part of the Beloved Community Journey, a series of learning, practice and action to create a world where we all belong and thrive. Our theme for April is "Caring for the Earth" If you haven't already signed up for the Journey, you can learn more and sign up to participate in our Spring series at: https://thrivenetwork.org/journey.
