Creating a Liberation Economy: Reparations, Redistribution & Radical Resourcing

"The problems of racial injustice and economic injustice cannot be solved without a radical redistribution of political and economic power." -Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Our only hope for our collective liberation is a politics of deep solidarity rooted in love." -Michelle Alexander

Join us on Sunday, March 5th for Creating a Liberation Economy: Reparations, Redistribution & Radical Resourcing with author, poet. journalist and poverty scholar Lisa "Tiny" Gray-Garcia (co-founder of POOR Magazine), beloved artist, activist, pianist and composer Kev Choice, and the soul-stirring voices of the Wildchoir (previously known as Thrive Choir).

As the social and political vision of Martin Luther King, Jr. evolved, he became increasingly focused on the issues of poverty and economic injustice. Dr. King knew that to truly build the Beloved Community we needed "a radical redistribution of political and economic power." What are the ways we shift our resources away from an oppression economy to a liberation economy? How can we make a just transition to the next economy, one that is rooted in the principles of interconnectedness, community reparations, healing and economic well-being for all? Join in as we gather at the intersections of belonging, justice, music, art and liberation.

IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL: For our Oakland & Bay area folks...please come out, bring a friend and join us for our second in-person event since the pandemic. For folks in other locations, be part of the power & magic by joining us live online.
